The design inspiration for the clock has been derived from the Dharma chakra (wheel of Law in Buddhism). Lotus has also been taken as inspiration as it holds great value in Buddhism.  It is believed that as lotus rises  and blossom above  the muddy water which in Buddhism depicts human getting above the problems of day to day life  and attaining enlightenment. Here the Lotus has twelve petals to in order to show the 12 hours of clock. Basically the clock depicts anyone getting over the chase of time and growing like a lotus thus supporting the philosophy of Buddhism.
